Bylaws Meeting Held
A bylaws meeting was held immediately following the May 10 club meeting. The primary purpose of this meeting was to clarify range rules regarding the direction of shooting on our ranges. A motion was made to change the bylaws so that all shooting (with the exception of the shotgun range) must take place in a roughly northerly direction, toward the big hill. This would have directly affected the current use of the action range, which holds matches where shooters aim toward the side berms.
After much discussion and debate, the vote was held but failed to achieve the two-thirds majority that would have been needed to pass the motion. Therefore, no changes will be made to the current club bylaws.

NRA Banquet Scheduled
Kevin Greb reported at the May meeting that the Friends of the NRA banquet for Benton has been scheduled for June 26 at the Holland Chapel Family Life Center. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
We need volunteers to help sell tickets. If you would like to sell tickets or volunteer to help out in some other way, please contact Kevin Greb at 776-3555 or Paul Stiedle at 888-2930.

Guests Must Obey Range Rules
We'd like to remind all club members that any guests they bring to the range are required to obey the same bylaws and range rules that we all adhere to. Please make sure that any guests you bring to the range are aware of the rules.

Member Alert! There are no trash cans on Benton Gun Club Ranges. We have burn barrels ONLY on ranges 1, 2, 3, and 4. Please place your unwanted targets, ammo boxes, cardboard, paper and other items that will burn in these barrels. If it will not burn, please take it home with you and dispose of it properly. Help keep our range clean so the people who work range maintenance can use their time for things like improvements instead of cleanup!
