A Letter From The President
Dear members,
2005 has started off with a bang. By all accounts the attendance at the January matches has been outstanding. If the bullet holes in the target boards and empty brass on the ground are any indication, and I believe they are, there is a lot of shooting going on and that is great. January's work day turned out to be windy, cold and drizzly, but several members came out and braved the weather and accomplished quite a lot. I thank you all as should the membership.
The dirt work on the lower range 3 (plinking range) is well under way and it has really changed the appearance. The club has purchased some roofing panels for future shed roofs.
Please don't mistake these for target boards! It is amazing how a few piles of dirt can start people thinking and planning. I heard some members talking about poles, gravel, and concrete the other day so if the club decides to do the work ourselves we already have some volunteers. If the members do the work a mail-out detailing what projects will be done and when will be sent out in advance to allow all interested members the opportunity to show up. I have asked Mr. Gismond to give the club an estimated budget for this year. With this information we can properly budget these projects. Now I would like to share some of these projects with you.
#1) This year we should get the plinking range #3 and the bench rest range #4 on the lower level operational. Maybe not completed but at least shootable. To accomplish this we need first a written and club-approved layout plan, an

Range and Match News
A motion was made, seconded and passed at the February meeting to reduce the match fees for the IR 50/50 match to $3.00 for club members and $5.00 for non-members, which will bring the club in line with the fees charged by other clubs in the area.
Also, another motion was approved to add four new match dates to the IDPA schedule. Please check with the IDPA match director to get the new dates.

Bylaws Committee Meeting Set
The next bylaws committee meeting is scheduled for March 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Western Sizzlin' in Benton. If you have suggestions for bylaws changes, please submit them to one of the club officers in writing, or bring them with you to the committee meeting.

Please Observe All Range Rules
We'd like to remind club members not to move target stands closer to the sheds or pads. All target stands must be placed directly in front of a designated berm or backstop. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other range rule, may result in revocation of your membership.

The club will hold its next work day on July 30, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. There will also be a work day on October 29.
Also, don't forget that you don't have to wait for an official work day to fix something at the range. If you see something that needs to be done and you have the means, go right ahead and do it. After all, we're
all responsible for the range.
