ship role and you will have to rejoin as a new member.
Also, there has been some talk about limiting the number of club members until all ranges are completed. What is your opinion? Please attend one of the monthly club meetings and let your views be known.

Please Observe the Range Rules
Recently, when Rex Gismond was changing some target boards at the range, he was struck in the face by the base from a glass bottle that fell from where it had been set atop one of the target board posts. Luckily it hit his eyeglasses and he was not injured. This was a very dangerous situation and he is very fortunate that he was not injured. Use of any glass targets is strictly prohibited by our range rules.
Also, someone shot at pumpkins that had been placed on the shooting pads on the pistol range. The pads were chipped and pitted, and will probably end up cracking and having to be replaced after the winter weather gets to them. Targets should
never be placed anywhere except at designated target positions in front of a proper backstop.
Please remember to observe
all range rules, both for your safety and the safety of others, and to prevent unnecessary damage to range property. Anyone caught breaking the range rules is subject to immediate cancellation of his or her club membership. An injury caused as a direct result of improper use of the range can have even more serious consequences. If you see someone breaking the range rules, please report him or her immediately. We want to keep the range a safe place for

2004 Match Schedule
The 2004 match schedule is included elsewhere in this issue of Windage. We hope you take the opportunity to join us at one of the matches next year. If you've never been to a match, you'll be in for a treat. The matches are lots of fun and a great way to keep your skills sharp. Try it, you'll like it!

Beretta Shotgun Raffle
The club is holding a raffle for a Beretta AL-391 semi-auto "NRA Gun of the Year" shotgun. We're offering 100 tickets at $20.00 each.  Half of the proceeds will go to the NRA Foundation, and the other half will go to the club. Tickets are on sale now, but may already be gone by the time you read this. (See what you miss by not going to the monthly club meetings?) If you're interested in purchasing a ticket, contact Paul Stiedle. His number is listed below.

Friends of the NRA Banquet Planned
Kevin Greb is putting together plans to hold an NRA banquet in Benton in March of 2004. The initial planning meeting is set for the first week in January. If you would like to volunteer to help out, please contact Kevin at 776-3555.

Membership Renewals
All renewal forms were mailed out by the end of November. If you haven't received yours yet, please call the club information line and leave a message with your name and address, and one will be mailed to you.
Now through January 2004, the newsletter will be delivered via regular mail only. Please take a moment to check the label and verify your membership status. If you see "04" after your name then the club has received your renewal for 2004. If you don't see "04" after your name, you need to renew to keep your membership current. Please remember that the grace period for lapsed membership expires on February 9, 2004. After that date, you will be dropped from the member

Member Alert! There are no trash cans on Benton Gun Club Ranges. We have burn barrels ONLY on ranges 1, 2, 3, and 4. Please place your unwanted targets, ammo boxes, cardboard, paper and other items that will burn in these barrels. If it will not burn, please take it home with you and dispose of it properly. Help keep our range clean so the people who work range maintenance can use their time for things like improvements instead of cleanup!
