Friends of NRA Meetings
The Saline County Friends of NRA banquet committee will have weekly meetings on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Western Sizzlin' in Benton to work on plans for the upcoming banquet. The banquet itself is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center of Holland Chapel Baptist Church. If you are interested in helping out or obtaining tickets, please contact Chuck Anderson at 847-1171.
You may be interested to know that one of the prizes to be given away at this banquet is a Kimber Eclipse II. Call Chuck today and don't miss out on your chance to win!

Please Observe All Range Rules
We'd like to remind club members not to move target stands closer to the sheds or pads. All target stands must be placed directly in front of a designated berm or backstop. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other range rule, may result in revocation of your membership.

Don't forget that the Benton Gun Club has a website at www.bentongunclub.org. Our thanks to Jim Menth for maintaining the site and keeping it up to date.

Bylaws Meeting Set
The bylaws committee has put together a list of proposed bylaws changes. The proposed changes were listed in the March issue of the newsletter. Please refer to that issue for all the specifics. These changes will be voted on at a bylaws meeting that will be held on June 13. The bylaws meeting will start 15 minutes after the regular club meeting ends. Please make an effort to attend this important meeting.

Work Day Scheduled
Our next regularly scheduled work day will be on July 30, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. There will also be a work day on October 29.
We had an extra work day on May 7. About six people showed up (we appreciate you!) and did work on the new plinking range.
Don't forget that you don't have to wait for an official work day to fix something at the range. If you see something that needs to be done and you have the means, go right ahead and do it. After all, we're
all responsible for the range.

Range and Match News
Please remember that the upper range two is NOT available for shooting at this time. We have seen people ignoring the signs and using that range anyway. Such actions are a violation of club rules and may result in termination of your membership. Please do not remove, damage, or ignore any of the warning signs placed on the range. They're there for a reason.
The club voted to have NRA-approved air rifle silhouette matches on May 14, June 11, and July 9 at 4:00 p.m. The matches will take place on lower range number 2. The fee has yet to be determined.
In other match-related news, the club voted to close off the upper ranges on September 16-18 during the Mid-South Classic Championship small-bore silhouette match (unless the new plinking range is open by then). The club also voted to reimburse Frank Bray $159.92 for the cost of a PA system for use in the Mid-South Classic match and other small-bore silhouette matches.
Also, the recently purchased half-scale small-bore silhouette animals have been welded and will soon be available for use.
Don't forget that we will be holding a speed steel challenge match on October 15 at 8:00 a.m. at the range. Sponsors are currently being sought. For details about the match, contact Pat Holstead at 766-4942 or e-mail him at
