Please Observe All Range Rules
We'd like to remind club members not to move target stands closer to the sheds or pads. All target stands must be placed directly in front of a designated berm or backstop. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other range rule, may result in revocation of your membership.

Visit Us on the Web
Don't forget that the Benton Gun Club has a website at www.bentongunclub.org. Our thanks to Jim Menth for maintaining the site and keeping it up to date.

New Address? Let Us Know!
If you change your address, telephone number or internet provider (and are receiving your monthly newsletter via email) please send the changes to the club post office box or email us at bgc139@yahoo.com. You can also submit updates by calling the club recorder at (501) 315-3071 and leaving a message with your name and a description of what you want changed. This will allow the club secretary to update the club files so you won't miss something important.

New Members
We welcomed seven new and returning members at the April meeting. They are Charles Phelps, Richard Nelson, Ms. Kelly Savage, Bruce Sparks, Joseph Williams, and previous members Timothy Hutchings and Andrew Lehing. Welcome

Bylaws Meeting Set
The bylaws committee has put together a list of proposed bylaws changes. The proposed changes were listed in last month's issue of the newsletter. Please refer to that issue for all the specifics. These changes will be voted on at a bylaws meeting that will be held on June 13, 15 minutes after the regular club meeting ends. Please make an effort to attend this important meeting.

Extra Work Day Scheduled
We will have an extra work day at the range on Saturday, May 7, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Most of the work will be on the new plinking range. (Lower range #3.)
Our next regularly scheduled work day will be on July 30, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. There will also be a work day on October 29.
Also, don't forget that you don't have to wait for an official work day to fix something at the range. If you see something that needs to be done and you have the means, go right ahead and do it. After all, we're
all responsible for the range.

Concealed Carry Class Proposed
The club may hold another concealed carry class if there is sufficient interest. We would need twelve students in order to hold the class. If you would be interested in attending such a class, please call the club information line at 315-3071 and leave a message with your name and number.

Range and Match News
A motion was made and passed at the April club meeting to hold a speed steel challenge match on October 15. For details about the match, contact Pat Holstead at 766-4942 or email him at patrick@shooters.com, or visit the web site www.shooters101.com.
Also, a motion was made and passed to amend an item from the minutes of the March meeting. Item #10 from the minutes was changed to read: "Purchase 2 full sets of 1/2 scale small bore silhouette animals, price not to exceed $800.00."

Friends of NRA Meetings
The Saline County Friends of NRA banquet committee will have weekly meetings on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Western Sizzlin' in Benton to work on plans for the upcoming banquet. The banquet itself is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Family Life Center of Holland Chapel Baptist Church.
